Following the publication of the CHE Ranking on the study information platform of DIE ZEIT, HeyStudium, at the beginning of May, the new data is now also available in the English-language version of the ranking on the website of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The CHE Ranking has been published there at www.university-ranking.de since 2003.
Many of the descriptive texts on the universities and departments provided by the universities are translated by the DAAD especially for the English-language version. The CHE Ranking also appears on the DAAD website in the ‘look & feel’ of the DAAD’s other English-language offerings for prospective foreign students.
Over 10,000 visits are made to the DAAD’s ranking pages each month, primarily from India, Pakistan, Turkey and South Korea in addition to visits from Germany. These countries account for around 60 per cent of visits.
‘This second publication channel enables the CHE Ranking information to reach prospective international students worldwide’, says CHE Ranking expert Cort-Denis Hachmeister, who has coordinated the cooperation with the DAAD from the outset.
In addition to the CHE Ranking, the English-language DAAD website also contains the complete list of study programmes offered by German universities from the HRK Higher Education Compass. As with HeyStudium, the DAAD also provides cross-references between the CHE Ranking and the Higher Education Compass data.
The CHE not only compiles the CHE Ranking for German Higher Education Institutions but is also involved in the European Higher Education Sector Observatory – EHESO.
